Retail Data & Import Specialist

(Multiple states) - Full Time

Your Role:

Oversee accurate product data management and smooth international import processes for MarketPlace retail operations at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). Maintain the integrity of retail product information, coordinate global shipping, and ensure compliance with import, shipping, and quality assurance requirements. 

Pay, Schedule, & Benefits:

  • The anticipated starting pay range is $28 - $29.60/hr. This compensation range considers a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experiences, as well as internal equity.
  • This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday during daytime business hours. Approximately 5% expenses-paid domestic travel is required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Administer the creation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of core retail product data, including SKUs, barcodes, pricing structures and product classification across inventory management, point of sale and other internal systems.
  • Create and send purchase orders to artisan partner groups. Work proactively with artisan partners to ensure timely delivery of goods. 
  • With a focus on partner relationships, manage international product shipments from end to end. Work with artisan partner groups to determine the most cost effective and timely solutions. Update internal team on shipment milestones.
  • Work closely with artisan partners to resolve issues around quality control and late orders.
  • Coordinate product testing as needed. Maintain records of testing and compliance. File partner government agency data as needed.
  • Facilitate the clearance of goods through customs. Classify all products for proper customs duty documentation. Prepare and submit all customs entry documentation in compliance with government agencies. Ensure all import activities comply with local, state and federal regulations and customs laws. Maintain accurate and organized records of all transactions, shipments, customs clearance and compliance requirements.  
  • Proactively and expediently resolve customs and transportation issues with a partner centered focus. Respond quickly to customs rejections, additional documentation requests or other issues that need a timely resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

  • Commitment to support and promote FMSC’s Christian mission and goals.
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, retail management, or related field and 1-3 years of experience in retail operations, supply chain management, data administration, or import/export coordination. In lieu of degree, equivalent work experience considered.
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations, shipping documentation, and compliance processes required.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, POS platforms, and Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; able to work collaboratively with diverse teams and international partners.

Your Team:

  • Work location is AZ (Tempe), IL (Aurora, Libertyville, Schaumburg), MN (Chanhassen, Coon Rapids, Eagan), or TX (Richardson). Position will have flexible/hybrid work schedule that allows for both office and remote work or fully remote work if preferred. Some locations may be fully remote dependent on space availability.
  • Reports to Retail Purchasing and Inventory Manager.
